Man Utd favourites to sign World Cup finalist

Manchester United are reportedly in pole position to sign Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot on a free transfer this summer.

The Red Devils are long-term admirers of the Frenchman and they were initially keen on landing his services in 2022.

Back then, a transfer fee was agreed between the clubs involved, but the Red Devils refused to meet the player's wage demands.

Fast forward two years later, United are reportedly back in the hunt for the 29-year-old whose contract expires at the end of June.

Rabiot is open to the prospect of moving to the Premier League and it has been claimed that he could re-negotiate with United.

However, a deal is not straightforward. The World Cup finalist is open to staying at Juventus if there is better clarity over the manager's situation.

Massimiliano Allegri was hugely influential in convincing Rabiot to stay last summer, but his future at the club is far from certain.

Should Allegri head for the exit door, there is a high possibility that Rabiot will also consider a new challenge away from Serie A.
