Ajax star Vertonghen hints at Premiership move

Ajax defender Jan Vertonghen hinted that he could make a move away from Holland. The Belgium international has been linked with moves to both Tottenham and Manchester United, whilst Bayern Munich and AC Milan are also keen.

The highly rated 24-year-old has only 18 months left on his current contract at the Amsterdam Arena, and talks over a new deal appear to have stalled. Vertonghen looks set to make a move away from Ajax in the next six months.


"There is talk of a contract extension, but not much has been said," Verthongen told AT5.


"Perhaps Ajax will find it to be a good thing when I leave, I don't know.


"But I think that in the future I could have a very good transfer."
