Man United monitoring Christian Eriksen

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson admitted that he is a big fan of Ajax and Denmark international Christian Eriksen. Ajax are currently preparing to host Man Utd in the Europa League this week, and Ferguson is looking forward to see the midfielder in action.

Eriksen is very highly rated by his Dutch side, and a number of European giants have expressed an interest in his services already. The 18-year old has been in superb form for Ajax this year, and Real Madrid are also amongst those interested.


"There's been a lot of attention on him," Ferguson said. "Everybody's been watching him. We'll see what he's like."


United are expected to purchase a new midfielder in the summer transfer window, as Paul Scholes is expected to again retire from football then, leaving a hole in United's midfield.
