Man City dogfight excites Wayne Rooney

Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney is enjoying the Premier League title fight with city rivals Man City this year. The England striker is confident that the Red Devils can go on to win the title as they are playing the best brand of football this year.

Man City went five points clear at the top of the league yesterday, but Man Utd are firmly focused on catching their biggest rivals.


“I think it is going to be nip and tuck from here on in. It’s brilliant for the neutrals and for us as footballers it is a great challenge. That is what you play football for – to be involved in situations like this," said Rooney.


“We’re in a good position and are playing the best football we have played all season at the moment.


“I think that gives us the edge, the fact we are playing so well.


“I think we are playing the best football in the league and we have to keep that going.’’
