Man City assistant Platt ignores mind games talk
Manchester City assistant manager David Platt has brushed off suggestions that his team are using mind games to disrupt Man Utd's title challenge. Patrick Vieira slated Man Utd's decision to sign Paul Scholes, and Sir Alex Ferguson responded taunting City's decision to play Carlos Tevez.
Man City were unable to beat Stoke City yesterday evening as they drew 1-1, derailing their Premier League title hopes and leaving Man Utd with an opportunity to go three points clear at the top of the Premier League on Monday, should they beat Fulham.
"It doesn't matter what the ammunition is and what words are said, it is all about amassing points," Platt said.
"It is not about winning leagues because of mind games," he added.
"It is about players going on to a pitch to play football and gain points."
