Arsenal eye move for Gylfi Sigurdsson?

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has been impressed with the sterling performances of Swansea City's on loan midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson, so much so that the French manager could even make a surprise transfer move for the Icelandic international at the end of the season.

Hoffenheim, the club that actually owns the player, have told Gylfi that he is free to quit Germany at the end of the season and the midfielder is desperate to stay in the Premier League.

Since arriving on loan in January, the attacking midfielder has scored 7 goals in 14 league games and he scored yet another cracking goal in yesterday's 3-0 defeat of Blackburn.

Arsenal scouts have been watching closely, and March's Premier League player of the month could be allowed to swap Germany for England permanently for a fee of around £7.3 million.
