Man United welcome Fletcher return

Manchester United won over Galatasaray last Wednesday September 19 in the Champions League. Another exciting game that ended Man Utd 1 – Galatasaray 0. But in Manchester that night, the biggest victory was not the win, but the return of one Darren Fletcher to the squad.

Many of us didn't notice that Fletcher had been out of action since November 22nd due to a career-threatening bowel condition.  His condition was so bad that Sir Alex had feared that was the end of the road for Ferguson’s last remaining Fledgling Mark II – the same school that included O’Shea, Richardson and…Danny Pugh.

Darren Fletcher entered the game to replace Paul Scholes with 11 minutes remaining. The fans showed their excitement and gave him a warm welcoming. Ferguson said: : “The supporters recognize what a tough time he has had for the last year.  They gave him a marvelous reception. He has been out of the game for a year it took him one or two minutes to get going but he can only be better after tonight."

And last night, Darren played his first 90 minutes in 10 months in what was yet another straight forward run-out – this time in the Carling Capital One Cup vs. Newcastle.

In other news. Manchester United also welcomed a new partner in the name of Bwin. The online gaming / sportsbook giant has been reported to be investing wisely and heavily on several football clubs and leagues in the past couple of years or so – see Ronaldo in the white of Real – and it seemed that United was the perfect fit.

Fletcher back in the roster and bwin being added in the list of supporters empowered the club to get back on track and regain their title. Hopes are high with the season in full swing aiming at Premier League trophy.
