Arsene Wenger has backed his Young Guns to defeat Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday in the Premiership's big weekend game. Wenger is confident Arsenal will maintain their good record against the "big teams".

"Playing a big side is the last question mark against this side," said Wenger.

"That's what people expect from us but I'm very confident.

"You want to go into the game and perform at the top level against the big sides. You want to make sure you are at your best.

"I feel this year that if we repeat our record against the big teams from last year then we will be very difficult to beat. That's the challenge we face now."

The single defeat against the 'elite' sides last season came against Liverpool, who were inspired by Peter Crouch.

The England striker is now struggling to get in the Liverpool team and they are struggling for form after being tipped to challenge for the title, putting Rafael Benitez's rotation policy under scrutiny.

"I rate Benitez highly as a manager," said Wenger. "I don't know if he's under pressure. It doesn't look to me like he's under pressure."

Pressure is something that Wenger puts himself under rather than something he feels from the board. The Frenchman has also seen people react in different ways to pressure.

"I've never done another job," he said. "It was one of my curiosities to know what the difference is in pressure between my job and any other job. You are under public pressure here.

"Friends of mine have changed for the worse in this kind of job, with the pressure."
