Tottenham to sell Defoe and Parker?

It's going to be a busy summer at White Hart Lane. According to reports from the Metro, Spurs are ready to sell Scott Parker and Jermain Defoe. The England internationals have reportedly been told they are free to leave the club.

Andre Villas-Boas is eager to mix up his squad for the new season and will let two of his most experienced players quit the club. Defoe has been a long time target for Sunderland, whilst Newcastle are also believed to have some interest in the forward. In addition, Scott Parker - despite his impressive performances since joining Spurs - could be set to quit the club in favour of a move to another Premier League team. Fulham are long time admirers of his talent.


Whilst these two players are set to leave White Hart Lane, that will free up substantial funds for new players. It is understood that Clement Grenier is a potential target for Tottenham, despite the player also being chased by Arsenal. Meanwhile, Andy Carroll is also a surprise option for Spurs if they are looking to replace Defoe quickly.
