Chelsea forward Torres proud of Barca interest
Chelsea forward Fernando Torres is proud and flattered to have been linked with a transfer switch to Spanish champions Barcelona.
As a youngster, Torres very nearly signed for Barcelona at the age of 19; but the forward instead decided to remain with Atletico Madrid.
The 29 year old has been mentioned with a spot at the Nou Camp should David Villa transfer away, as a partner for Lionel Messi and new signing Neymar.
"It’s always nice a club like that is interested, but I want to stay and will talk to Mourinho later," Torres responded to reporters when asked about a transfer to the Catalan side.
"I want to stay at Chelsea. I have contract, I want to be the best at my position and I don’t think there is a better place to be. Mourinho has won far more than many of us. It’s a new challenge and I am looking forward to it."
