Real Madrid close in on Gundogan transfer

Real Madrid have moved a step closer to sealing a deal for German midfielder Ilkay Gundogan. The Borussia Dortmund midfielder is eager to link up with the Spanish side after telling the German club that he wants to leave for pastures new.

The central midfielder playmaker had a storming season with Dortmund last year, helping his side to the Champions League final where the German side were eventually beaten by Bayern Munich. The Dortmund #8 attracted the interest of several of Europe's biggest teams, but it was Real Madrid who made Gundogan their primary transfer target for this summer.


The German international will reportedly ask manager Jurgen Klopp to listen to all offers for him from Real Madrid as he hopes to seal a deal to the Spanish capital before the beginning of July.
