Liverpool to bid for Eljero Elia

Liverpool have rekindled their interest in Dutch winger Eljero Elia.The Reds are looking to add more depth in their side which is not surprising given the wholesale of changes that have been done at Anfield in the past few seasons.

Many had expected Liverpool's interest in Elia to finally wither away, but the Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has reingnited the club’s interest for the Dutch ace.


The 26-year-old Elia was initially linked with a move to Liverpool way back in 2009, while he was still plying his trade at Hamburg.


Juventus won the fight to sign Elia from the Reds in 2011 but things unfortunately winded downwards for Elia as he managed just 4 appearances in his first season at the Serie A club.


The Dutch star joined the Bundesliga side, Werder Bremen in July 2012 and has since found it difficult to adapt once again.


With Liverpool on the move to acquire his signature, It looks likely that Elia would be glad to accept a new challenge in the Premier League.
