Cardiff City enter Victor Wanyama race
Premier League newcomers Cardiff City are the newest team to enter the race for Kenyan international midfielder Victor Wanyama. Celtic are ready to sell the player for around £12.5m, and so far Cardiff have only offered £11m.
Southampton were believed to be locked in talks with the player last week, but it appears that they have failed in their efforts to secure the signing as their salary offer was some way off of his expectation. It is understood that Wanyama is hoping for around £100,000 per week to move to the Premier League.
Cardiff City, on the other hand, are ready to make a salary offer close to that amount, but want to include clauses in his contract that allows them to reduce his salary or sell the player should they are relegated from the Premier League next year.
