Nicolas Anelka signs for West Brom
The Baggies have completed the signing of former Chelsea and Arsenal forward Nicolas Anelka on a one year deal. The veteran French striker has previously represented the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City in England.
The 34-year-old makes a comeback to the Premier League after a short unsuccessful spell in China with Shanghai Shenhua. During the January transfer window he left the Chinese club for Serie A champions Juventus where he helped the club to the Scudetto and he has now linked up with the Midlands side after his deal in Turin expired.
The Baggies will be the sixth English club that Anelka has played for and the head coach Steve Clarke was visibly excited with his newest acquisition.
“We are missing a bit of firepower from last year - we're trying to put that right - and to kick off with the signing of Nicolas at the start of the summer is a great boost for everyone at the club,' Clarke said
Now as he is back in England,it will be interesting to see how he shapes up in his new team and his performances against his old clubs Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea in particular.
