De Rossi would join Chelsea on Mourinho's request

The West London club seems to be the wish of a world class striker.The Stamford Bridge side, at present have lack of depth in the central midfield area. Newly appointed Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho though, has his plans clearly put up as he is trying to sign the very talented AS Roma midfielder Daniele De Rossi.

With Oriol Romeu and John Obi Mikel vying interest from Valencia and Galatasaray respectively, the remaining midfield of Frank Lampard, Michael Essien, Ramires and recently signed Marco van Ginkel don't really guarantee the Blues fans as they prepare for a first class display in the upcoming season.  

After failing to land De Rossi during his campaign at Inter and Real Madrid, the 'Special One' is buoyed by the fact that this time , the 29 year old is willing to a switch.

The Sunday Mirror reports that a source close to Roma said, “If Mourinho calls, I’m sure De Rossi will say yes. He did not want to go to Manchester City, but Chelsea are the club who could take him to England.” Chelsea though, are willing to add more motivation for De Rossi to join them, by matching his £5.5million a year Roma salary much like the source conveyed, “If Chelsea are prepared to pay his wages, then it is a transfer that can happen.”
