Arsenal hand trial to Colombian starlet

The Gunners have handed a trial to highly-rated Colombian midfielder Sebastian Perez, who currently plys his trade for local club side Atletico Nacional.

Perez, who became the youngest player to lift the Liga Postobon title, has a lot of interest from many clubs in Europe and is held in high regard by Serie A winners Juventus and Ligue 1 champions PSG.

Perez has been monitored by Arsenal scouts during his representation for Colombia at the Under 20 World Cup held in Turkey, and has been offered a trial at the Emirates, Atletico Nacional’s President has confirmed.

Arsenal will have to shell out £5m for the youngster despite his inexperience with the game. If the Gunner's manager Arsene Wenger is sufficiently impressed with Perez’s capability in training, the fee, however, would not be a barrier, and will represent the manager's continuing commitment to developing stars from the root-tip.

All Arsenal fans will be hoping is that the youngster doesn't struggle with work permit issues like his Latin American predecessors Carlos Vela and most recently Joel Campbell, who were shipped off for season long loan deals to other countries as soon as they were signed by Arsenal.
