Swansea City wrap up deal for Wilfried Bony

Swansea have completed their major transfer of the summer as talented forward Wilfried Bony signed a four year contract with the Welsh side. The player arrives for a reported £12m as Michael Laudrup prepares for next season with an interesting looking strike partnership of the Ivory Coast international and Spaniard Michu.

The player, who arrives from Vitesse Arnhem, joins the Welsh club having seen the deal smash Swansea's previous transfer record. The player passed a medical at Swansea's pre-season training camp and will link up with his new team mates this afternoon.

Manager Michael Laudrup was delighted to finally secure a deal for the striker, as he had originally told chairman Huw Jenkins he was concerned that the club were too quiet in the transfer market.

A delighted Bony told the club's official website: "Now it is important that I focus my mind on the challenge ahead because I hope to make the Swansea fans very happy.

"I watched Swansea a lot last season on TV. They have some good players and I like the way they play.

"I appreciate the style, which is similar to the Dutch way, and I think being at Swansea will help me develop as a player."
