Manchester City confirm Maicon exit

Brazilian left back Maicon has been told he is free to leave Man City, as Serie A sides Napoli and Roma have both matched the reported 4.8 million Euro asking price for the defender.

"Maicon didn’t come here to the pre-season and he will not be in the squad at Manchester City this year," said Manuel Pellegrini.


Last season the defender was brought in by former manager Roberto Mancini but has failed to impress as Gael Clichy still remains first choice left back at the Etihad Stadium.
