Lukaku ready to welcome Rooney at the Bridge

Belgian forward Romelu Lukaku has declared that he would welcome Manchester United forward Wayne Rooney into the Blues squad if he decides to sign for them.

Lukaku, 20 year old, spent the entire lasts season on loan at West Bromwich Albion and has expressed his readiness to compete for a starting spot at Chelsea this season. 


The youngster has already impressed manager Jose Moourinho in the club's pre season tour of the Far East and is expected to be involved in the Portuguese's plans. 


Lukaku is already looking forward to the possibility of a partnership with Rooney if he does eventually sign for the Blues. 


Lukaku said: "You know when you are playing for a team like Chelsea, there is going to be competition.


"I like competition. Obviously, if he does sign, it could be a good partnership but it is the manager's choice."
