Liverpool owner laughs off Arsenal bid for Suarez

Liverpool's American owner John Henry's latest tweet appears to mock Arsenal's recent £40 million plus one bid for their Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez.

Henry tweeted "What do you think they are smoking over there at Emirates" at 2 am local time in Boston but it remains to be verified if it was in direct reference to the Gunners' latest offer. 


Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers had clearly stated that the club wishes to keep the striker at Anfield despite Suarez's desire to leave for a new club. However, he left a window of opportunity open for the interested clubs by saying the club would be willing to talk if the right offer is made.


Arsenal's new offer triggered a clause in Suarez's contract wherein the player is free to talk to the Londoners but the club maintains that it is not his buy out price.
