Gomis desperate for Newcastle move as striker cancels Lyon meeting
Bafetimbi Gomis, who remains Newcastle's top transfer priority this summer, failed to show for a scheduled appointment with Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas. His failure to attend seems to indicate that the forward remains focused on a move to Premier League side Newcastle.
Alan Pardew's side have already made an offer to Lyon for the burly forward, but so far Lyon have rejected every approach for the player as they hope to keep Gomis for the new season.
Newcastle have been looking to buy a new striker for over 7 months, since the sale of Senegalese forward Demba Ba to rivals Chelsea. Gomis has been linked with a €12 million move to the Toon Army.
Lyon's president Gomis confirmed that Gomis didn't show up for the meeting: "We gave him a letter by hand but he did not come"
