Celtic to snap up Sunderland winger James McClean
Neil Lennon is hoping to wrap up a deal to sign Sunderland's winger James McClean this summer. According to reports from Scotland, Celtic are the favourites to secure the Ireland international's signature.
Sunderland manager Paolo Di Canio is ready to sell McClean for a fee believed to be in the region of £3 million and Celtic's opening offer is £2.5 million; so the completion of this deal could be imminent.
The Black Cats have already sealed a move for Emanuele Giaccherini, leaving McClean's starting place at the Stadium of Light doubtful as the Italian winger is Sunderland's most expensive signing so far this summer.
Fulham are also believed to be in the race to sign McClean.
