Valencia Could Bid For Fernando Torres If Roberto Soldado Leaves

Valencia are reportedly set to bid for Chelsea’s Fernando Torres in order to replace the seemingly Tottenham bound striker Roberto Soldado. Reports in Spain claim the club is readying an offer in the region of £25m for Torres.
According to Valencia newspaper Superdeporte, the Spanish outfit have already made contact with the west London club, enquiring about the Spanish international’s availability.
As has been suggested by reports, Chelsea are likely to launch another bid for Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney, whose arrival at the Stamford Bridge would mean more competition for Torres and Demba Ba. Jose Mourinho is more likely to promote youngster Romelu Lukaku up the pecking order. Torres has failed to meet the expectations of Chelsea, ever since his joining from Liverpool in 2011 for £50m.
Valencia are looking to collect £26m from the prospective sale of their lead striker Roberto Soldado to Spurs. With the incoming revenue from his sale, they are planning to make an audacious £25m bid for the former Liverpool star. In case this offer fails to generate a positive response from the Stamford Bridge officials, another bid for the striker is less likely, considering their financial predicament.
