West Ham United closing in on the signing of former Chelsea defender Khalid Boulahrouz
West Ham United are set to make a move for former Chelsea defender Khalid Boulahrouz according to reports from Portuguese newspaper A Bola.
The Dutch defender who only joined Primeira Liga side Sporting Lisbon last summer, is on the verge of a making a summer move to the Premier League as the Portuguese club are undergoing a financial breakdown.
Boulahrouz knows the Premier League well having spent two years at the West London club Chelsea and has loads of experience which has added up interest from the Hammers' manager Sam Allardyce.
The West Ham boss is keen to strengthen his backline and add more stability to the formation. Boulahrouz can play at the centre of the defence as well as at right back and Portuguese newspaper A Bola claims that West Ham are edging closing to making a move for the 31-year-old Dutchman.
