Arsenal very close to signing Viktor Gyokeres
Arsenal are very close to signing Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres, according to Portuguese outlet Leonino.
The Gunners are eyeing a marquee centre-forward this summer and they have identified Gyokeres as one of their top targets.
Leonino now claim that the club have agreed personal terms with the 26-year-old and they are very close to his transfer.
The financial details are holding up the move, but there is optimism from the Gunners side that a transfer can be sorted soon.
Gyokeres joined Sporting from Coventry City last summer and he had a sensational debut season with 43 goals and 15 assists.
He was by far the best striker across Europe's top seven leagues and he now has the chance to prove himself in England.
Gyokeres was previously with Brighton & Hove Albion in the top-flight, but he never got the opportunity to impress.
The Swede has now become a prolific goalscorer and will be eager to make his mark with the Gunners if he were to join them.
