Arsenal defender suffers hamstring injury at Euro 2024

Kieran Tierney news

Tierney suffers hamstring injury

Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney suffered a hamstring injury during Scotland's 1-1 draw against Switzerland at Euro 2024.

The left-back spent the recent campaign on loan with Real Sociedad. He was in-and-out of the starting line-up for them due to injuries.

He has now suffered another setback which is reportedly 'very bad'. Tierney could be sidelined for several months after the blow.

The news could hamper his chances of leaving the Gunners this summer.

Tierney has made the decision to leave the club on a permanent basis after being deemed surplus to requirements by Mikel Arteta.

His current contract expires in June 2026 and as things stand, we won't be surprised if his departure is delayed beyond this summer.

Tierney could be sidelined for the next few months. It is unlikely that any club will consider buying him outright on his comeback.

They may want to assess his fitness first. Hence, Arsenal may have to wait until January next year to part ways with the Scot.
