Arsenal dismiss security fears

Arsenal have hit out at claims that Sir Alex Ferguson has questioned the security of the Emirates Stadium around the visiting team dugout. The match ended in a 2-2 draw and Ferguson hit out at the referee Howard Webb after stating: "it is difficult to come here (The Emirates) and be completely fair."

Ferguson had said there is lack of security around the visiting team’s dugout and claimed there is "absolute danger here" (at the Emirates Stadium), following Saturday’s 2-2 draw.

The Gunners have said through a spokesperson: "Stadium security is of the highest importance and Arsenal Football Club feel there is ample stewarding around the dugout area.

"However, the club does recognise that some exchanges which takes place can be of an aggressive nature, and there was an incident this afternoon where one supporter was ejected.

"As a club we do expect a certain level of behaviour.

"There is also CCTV which monitors the area which our stadium management crew do review in detail after games, and if necessary the club will take further action."
