Carlos Zambrano on Sunderland's shortlist
Peruvian international defender Carlos Zambrano is a target for Sunderland manager Paolo Di Canio. The Black Cats' Italian manager has already spent big traveling far and wide to secure the signings of several new players, but is still not content and will now move for Eintracht Frankfurt's defender Zambrano.
The 24-year-old Peruvian, formerly of Schalke 04, joined Frankfurt back in 2012 and has gone on to play as a first team regular for the German side. Sunderland scouts have recommended the player to Di Canio at least twice in the last three months and the Italian will now make an approach.
Fulham were also rumoured to have been linked with Zambrano but it appears Sunderland will make the first firm offer for the player.
