Liverpool and Arsenal in race for Arda Turan signature

Liverpool and Arsenal will go head to head as both clubs battle to sign Turkey international winger Arda Turan. The Atletico Madrid's future in Spain looks uncertain after his agent admitted that his client has offers from teams in England.

Ahmet Bulut, the player's agent said: "Two teams from England have made a bid; a transfer to England is probably. An English club has contacted Atletico and discussions are ongoing."


After watching his Gunners side slump to an opening day 3-1 defeat to Aston Villa, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is under pressure to bring in new faces to the Emirates. Turan is a player that he has reportedly admired for many years.


Liverpool on the other hand are looking to add some more strength in depth to their midfield department, having sold Stewart Downing to West Ham last week.


It is reported that Atletico will listen to offers in the region of 15 million Euros.
