Manchester City captain out for a month

Manchester city captain Vincent Kompany will be sidelined for at least a month with a groin injury, after limping off during the second half of his side's 4-0 win against Newcastle United last week.

The Belgian will miss City's games against Stoke City, Cardiff City, Hull City and possibly the clash against City's rivals Manchester United.

Pellegrini has defenders Joleon Lescott, Matija Nastasic and Micah Richards to call upon, though Nastasic has just returned to training this week following

Kompany signed for Manchester city in the 2007-2008 season, and became captain at the beginning of the 2011/2012 season. He has 151 league appearances for the club with 7 goals to show for it.
