Watford manager Gianfranco Zola confident of Troy Deeney stay
Watford manager Gianfranco Zola has assured that the Troy Deeney will remain at Vicarage Road at the conclusion of the summer transfer window.
The talented 25-year-old forward tops the Championship goals chart this season alongside Huddersfield's James Vaughan with five goals.
Although reports had earlier linked the striker with a move to Newcastle United, the Hornets boss is confident that he will remain at Vicarage Road.
He was quoted by BBC Sport as saying :"This is something the club is dealing with.
"I wouldn't be surprised because he's doing very well.
He also added: "I am confident he can stay with us and help us achieve what we want to achieve."
Watford face newly promoted outfit Bournemouth in the second round of the Capital One cup on Wednesday.
