Di Maria glad to stay at Real Madrid, thanks Ancelotti

Real Madrid winger Angel di Maria has expressed his pleasure on having stayed on at the Bernabeu beyond the summer and thanked Carlo Ancelotti for showing faith in him.

The 25 year old winger was on the wishlist of a host of English clubs including Arsenal and Manchester United but eventually stayed on at the club.


The Argentina international was believed to be offloaded to balance the books following the sale of Gareth Bale from Tottenham for a world record fee. However, Mesut Ozil was transferred to Arsenal and Di Maria is grateful to Ancelotti for showing faith in him.


"Yes, I will be staying at Real Madrid," said Di Maria to Fox Sports Radio.


"I have the confidence of the coach, I am very happy and my family also, which is the most important thing."
