Cristian Tello reveals Liverpool snub

Barcelona winger Cristian Tello has told reporters that he had the opportunity to join Liverpool this summer, but instead decided to stay put at his current club. The youngster has been persistently linked with a move away from the Nou Camp.

Liverpool were busy in the transfer window just passed; with the likes of Luis Alberto arriving from Spain. However, one player they were not able to sign is that of the young Barcelona man, Tello.


“I always wanted to stay here,” Tello said.
“The coach has confidence in me. I’m happy and ready to play.”
“I knew that Liverpool were interested in me, but I never thought about leaving.”
