Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has insisted that his side are in the toughest position to qualify out of the Champions League group stage this season, while setting a target of 10 points to secure qualification.

Considered the group of death, the Gunners will face the likes of Borussia Dortmund, Marseille and Napoli in Group F,with their opening encounter against Marseille at the Stade Velodrome today night.

Wenger believes that attaining crucial away points will prove vital to whether the Gunners earn a top-two spot which guarantees qualification to the knock-out phase, and a good start with Marseille is imperative.

He told the club's official website: "If you look at the group, I would say yes it is the hardest group because all the four teams have a chance to qualify.

"That means the every game is basically a very important one. On average you need 10 points to qualify so that gives you the task. Ten points in a group as a difficult as that could be a reasonable number to get through.

"You need points away from home and, like in every competition, the start is very important for the confidence of the team and to put you in a good position. Whether it is home or away, it is the same basically, we come here and we will try to win the game."

The Gunners have been in a good vein of form having won their last five matches in all competitions.
