Aston Villa's Christian Benteke out of Spurs clash

Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert has revealed that the club's star-striker Christian Benteke will miss out on the Capital One cup match against Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday. 

The Belgian striker was forced off the field as a result of a hip injury during Villa's 1-0 victory over Norwich City at Carrow Road.

Lambert has admitted that he is unsure of the extent of Benteke's injury, but suggested that he will use a squad rotation policy when the club face off agains Spurs at Villa Park in the Capital One cup on Tuesday night.

Lambert said on the club's website : "We are waiting for the scan today and then waiting for the results so we will just have to wait and see (how long he will be out for)," 


"I've got to make changes for tomorrow, that's for sure, because I've got a lot of injuries at the minute and Saturday's [game against Manchester City] is massive for us as well."
