Chelsea wait for Carvalho

Chelsea's injury problems continue as crocked Ricardo Carvalho will have a scan today to see the full extent of his injury that he picked up in the 1-1 draw with Everton at the weekend.

The Portuguese defender went off in the first half on 29 minutes with back problems, but the full extent of the damage will not be revealed until today.

He joins John Terry, Petr Cech and Paulo Ferreira in the treatment room.

The Chelsea boss has however, confessed Ashley Cole will be fit for the England: "We have too many injuries. It is not easy to play without all the back four and goalkeeper from the last few months. But this is the reason we have a big squad, but it is unusual.

"Chelsea have the best two left-backs in England, and Ashley Cole is fit for England."
