Everton line up January move for Andres Guardado
Everton manager Roberto Martinez wants to bolster his squad in the January transfer window with the signing of Mexico international winger Andres Guardado from Valencia. The 5 foot 7 attacker, known as "The Little Prince", has been monitored by Everton scouts in Spain amidst talks of an imminent 7.5 million Euro transfer.
Guardado, who has been capped over 100 times for his country Mexico, has been linked with a move to the Premier League in the past with both Arsenal and Tottenham but a deal fell through. Since arriving at Valencia in 2012, Guardado has gone on to impress many with dazzling displays from the left flank.
Porto are also amongst the teams hoping to sign the player, but Everton are confident that they can win the race for his coveted signature.
Guardado forced his way into his hometown club's starting squad back in 2005 and then later moved to Deportivo La Coruna in Spain in 2007. He has now spent six years in Spain and is believed to be looking forward to a new challenge in another country.
