Liverpool plot move for Benfica midfielder Nemanja Matic

Liverpool are reportedly eyeing a move for Benfica midfielder Nemanja Matic according to Portuguese newspaper ABola.

The Reds are keen on strengthening their midfield department and are ready to offer a fee in the region of £30m for the former Chelsea man.

The talented central midfielder failed to impress at Stamford Bridge and left the Blues to make a switch to Primeira Liga giants Benfica in 2011, with Ramires heading in the opposite direction.


Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers will be eager to keep the Reds' run for an elusive Champions League spot ongoing, as he tries to lure Benfica's star midfielder to Anfield, with the club's American owners ready to offer the funds.
