Liverpool set to re-sign Xabi Alonso ?

Liverpool are reportedly set to re-sign former player Xabi Alonso from Real Madrid, as per the Metro. 

The Metro reports that the La Liga giants are looking to bring in Chelsea's Ramires, and this could dent the veteran Spaniard's future at the Bernabeu. 

With Xabi Alonso set to be deemed surplus at the club, Liverpool are considered as favourites to re-sign a player, who is still fondly remembered by the Reds faithful.


Real Madrid are expected to ask a reasonable fee for the player, who could be the perfect addition to Brendan Rodgers' team to strengthen their quest for a Champions League spot.
