Man Utd considering cut price deal for Porto star Fernando
Manchester United manager David Moyes has been given the green light to pursue a transfer deal for Porto defensive midfielder Fernando. The 26-year-old has just a 8 months left on his contract.
The Brazilian holding midfielder, who is known as "The Octopus" back in Portugal for his ability to grab the ball from everywhere on the pitch, has been linked with many teams in England in the past including the likes of Everton, Newcastle and Chelsea. Despite that, Fernando has remained fiercely loyal to his current club despite his apparent desire to swap Portugal for a move to another country.
Fernando is approximately two months away from earning Portuguese citizenship and that is one of the reasons why he has so far decided to stay with the Portuguese league champions.
Man Utd are hopeful that a deal can be agreed in January and that a deal would be worth around £7 million.
