Newcastle and West Ham monitoring Romain Hamouma
Premier League sides West Ham and Newcastle have been monitoring the progress of Saint Etienne's 26-year-old midfielder Romain Hamouma. The talented attacking midfielder has caught the eye with a number of impressive displays in Ligue 1 this season.
The player has spent several years traveling around French lower leagues until making a move to Caen back in 2010. Two impressive seasons followed and St. Etienne signed the midfielder for around 2.5 million Euros.
Newcastle and West Ham have both sent scouts to watch Les Verts in action and Alan Pardew is considering a transfer bid as soon as January, whilst the Hammers are believed to be thinking further ahead with an offer next summer. Hamouma is hopeful that he will one day represent France's full international team and wants a transfer abroad to establish himself in a foreign league.
St Etienne are not looking to sell the midfielder and have slapped a 6 million Euro pricetag on the player.
