Davies: more than football
Derby boss Billy Davies has insisted that there is more to life than football. His side were thumped 5-0 by West Ham at the weekend, and Davies has been quick to play down the toughest period in his managerial career.
Davies, who joined the Rams in 2006, said: "A job is a job and I try to put it in its place. I know there are bad times in this job, complaints from fans, that goes with the territory and it doesn't concern me.â
"There is more to life than football and all you can do is your best."
Derby are next up against Chelsea and another rout could be in the offing if Davies' side do not improve.
He added: "For me, this is not the toughest period in my managerial career.
"Getting two provincial clubs like Preston and Derby County into a play-off place is tougher than taking Derby into the Premier League and trying to compete with the quality and spending power of clubs around us."
