It is understood that Hughes is ready to quit Derby and make a move to a Premier League team before the end of the season and is open to all offers. West Ham have already been discussing a bid internally and will make an enquiry in the next three weeks for the player.
The 18-year-old has burst onto the scene at Pride Park and has already chalked up 53 games for the Championship club since his debut in 2011. The 6 foot 1 midfielder had been a favourite to make a move to Liverpool, but it appears West Ham are also in the race and could hijack a transfer deal.
