Arsenal & Man City make contact with Newcastle midfielder

Arsenal and Manchester City have made contact with the representatives of Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes over a summer transfer.

The Brazilian has been one of the best defensive midfielders in the Premier League, and he is likely to pursue a bigger challenge this summer.

He currently has a release clause worth £100m in his contract, but reports have claimed that the Magpies could be willing to sell him for £80m.

Amidst this, Ben Jacobs has revealed that the Gunners and Cityzens are working behind the scenes and have made contact with his entourage.

The duo battled it out for the signature of Declan Rice last summer, and they plan to do the same for Guimaraes, who was previously with Lyon.

The Gunners have a long-term interest, having followed him from his time at Les Gones. They could have an advantage over Pep Guardiola's side.
