West Ham in surprise Diego Forlan transfer link

West Ham manager Sam Allardyce is on the market for another striker as Andy Carroll continues to recover from injury. Eyefootball understands that Uruguayan international forward Diego Forlan is one of the names on the Hammers' transfer shortlist.

The January window will bring many exciting moves on the transfer market, but a deal involving a return to the Premier League for former Manchester United striker Forlan will surprise many.


The 34-year-old currently plays in Brazil for Internacional and is seemingly ready to move away from South America in pursuit of another European adventure.


The Hammers are weighing up a deal worth a reported $300,000 to the Brazilian club. Forlan is desperate to play regularly before next summer's World Cup as he faces stiff competition for places in the first team with the likes of Edinson Cavani and Luis Suarez ahead of him.
