Atletico Madrid ready Juan Mata transfer offer

Spanish side Atletico Madrid are planning a 20 million Euro transfer bid for Chelsea's out of favour playmaker Juan Mata. The Blues have preferred the likes of Oscar ahead of Mata this season, leaving the attacking midfielder frustrated and looking for a return to his home country.

Mata, who spent four seasons playing for Valencia in La Liga, has slipped down the pecking order under current manager Jose Mourinho at Stamford Bridge and is angry that he has not been given further opportunities in the Blues' first team. Mata has reportedly asked Mourinho whether he can leave the club and his manager has said that the player can leave for the right price and that no Premier League team will be allowed to sign him.


Atletico Madrid, who are currently flying high in La Liga, have a budget of 30 million Euros to spend on new players in January and have supposedly made Mata their primary transfer target. The 25-year-old will evaluate his options once the January transfer window opens.
