Arsenal and Manchester City are set to battle it out for the signature of Real Madrid shot-stopper Iker Casillas in the winter transfer window.

The talented Spanish goalie has fallen out of favour with Los Blancos, with Diego Lopez being the prefered choice under manager Carlo Ancelloti.


The Express reports that the Premier League duo are both readying a bid for the Spaniard in the January transfer window.


The 32-year-old has spent his entire career with Real Madrid but could be tempted with a switch away from the Spanish capital, with his place in the national team under threat ahead of the World Cup finals in Brazil next year.
