Hargreaves, Bent called up

Owen Hargreaves and Darren Bent have both been called up to the England squad for the crucial game with Croatia. Michael Owen's injury against Austria saw a return to the England fold for the Tottenham hitman, whilst Man Utd midfielder Hargreaves is recalled.

McClaren said: “I said after the game on Friday there is enough in that dressing room, there are good enough players to get the result we need.

"I have called up Darren Bent and Owen Hargreaves will join us.

“Owen has good experience and he is playing regularly for United.”

The Tottenham striker has scored two in three games after a slow start to his White Hart Lane career following a £16million summer move from Charlton.

He comes into the squad after Michael Owen picked up an injury in the friendly with Austria.
