Villa closing on Wigan hitman

Aston Villa are closing on signing Wigan Athletic striker Grant Holt. The striker previously played under Villa manager Paul Lambert while he was in charge of Norwich city.
Villa are short on strikers after new recruit Libor Kozak was ruled out for the season with a break.
Wigan signed Holt from the canaries last summer when they were relegated to the championship. Wigan chairman Dave Whelan has already wished the striker the best of luck for his move. This is what he told Sky Sports News,
"If he decides to go we will wish him well."
The 32 year old has only scored twice in 16 games for the latics in the championship.
