Magpies eye Vitesse defender
Newcastle are eyeing a move for Vitesse Arnhem defender Kevin Leerdam. The 23 year old can play at right back or anywhere in the back and as a defensive midfielder.
The Magpies have been hit by injuries in the defence in last few weeks with captain Fabricio Coloccini out with ligament injury. The club are also short in the right back area and have to move left back Davide Santon across to cover the loss of Mathieu Debuchy.
Leerdam has been excellent for his club this season and in his 20 appearances has scored seven goals for the club. It is in some parts down to his form that the club are vying for Eredivisie title.
The former U-21 has also attracted the attentions of fellow Premier league club Everton.
